Tariff concerns are pushing these Cork firms to build American manufacturing bases with record Irish FDI in the US last year.

Cork-based indigenous pharmaceutical manufacturing companies have said that they are now having to establish new plants in the United States in a bid to protect jobs at home, in light of Donald Trump’s ongoing aggressive tariff policy.

With concerns about the price of imported drugs from factories in Ireland impacting demand, many Irish firms are now looking to establish a strong base on the other side of the Atlantic.
